About us

Nobody shops around for a garage door repair.

You call whoever comes up first, because the car is stuck and the house is open. That urgency is exactly what makes this trade so easy to take advantage of — and it's the reason this site exists.

The problem

An informed customer is a much harder customer to overcharge.

Garage door repair has all the ingredients for a bad experience. It's urgent, so you can't shop around. It's genuinely dangerous in places, so you can't check the work yourself. And almost nobody knows what a torsion spring costs, so any number sounds plausible.

The result is a trade where the same broken spring gets quoted at wildly different prices in the same city on the same afternoon, and where "you really need a whole new door" is said far more often than it's true.

We can't stand in your driveway with you. What we can do is make sure you arrive at that conversation knowing roughly what failed, what a fair scope looks like, and which questions make a bad quote fall apart.

What we actually do

Three jobs, and that's it.

01

Explain the problem

45 symptom guides that tell you what a noise or a behaviour actually means, and — more importantly — whether the door is safe to keep using right now.

02

Explain the repair

12 repair guides covering what a proper job includes, what changes the price, and where the honest line sits between repairing a door and replacing it.

03

Find you someone

We route your request to an independent provider who works your area, across 140 cities in 42 states. You pay them, not us.

How we're set up

Independent providers, described honestly.

The repairs are carried out by independent garage door providers. We are not their employer and they are not our branches. Each one is responsible for the work it takes on — the scheduling, the labour, the equipment, the credentials, and the repair itself.

You'll notice we don't have stock photos of "our local team", a review score we can't substantiate, or a founding year. It's an easy page to write and we'd rather not.

A listed city means we can take and fulfil work in that market. That's the claim, and it's the whole claim.

Things you won't find here

The stuff we left off on purpose.

Every one of these is trivially easy to fabricate, which is exactly why they're worth nothing.

  • A star ratingWe haven't collected enough verified reviews to publish one, so there isn't one.
  • A customer count"Trusted by 40,000 homeowners" is a sentence, not a fact.
  • Starting-from pricesThey're marketing numbers. The real one comes after someone sees your door.
  • Arrival guaranteesWe can promise our response time. We can't promise someone else's van.
  • Local officesWe don't have branches in 140 cities and won't imply otherwise.
  • A founding yearThis is a new brand. Pretending otherwise would be the first lie.
